CSD in Munich: Important diversions for tram and bus on June 28th!
München, Deutschland - On June 28, Munich will again become a colorful festival mile when the Christopher Street Day (CSD) is celebrated. The highlight is the large political parade, which is under the sign of equality and acceptance of queer people with the motto "Liberté, Diversité, Queerité". Led by Mayor Dieter Reiter, the parade will pull a distance of 3.5 kilometers through the city center, starting at Mariahilfplatz and ending in Ludwigstrasse. 200 groups, including the famous motorcycle group "Dykes on Bikes", will be there.
The Munich Transport Society (MVG) has announced that due to the CSD, extensive detours and interruptions in tram and bus traffic will occur. The Odeonsplatz and Von-Tann-Straße stops are particularly affected, which cannot be operated in both directions. These changes apply from June 26 to prepare for the big event [Abendzeitung-muenchen.de] . From June 30th, normal operation will be resumed at 4:00 p.m.
diversions in detail
Bus 100 will not start the Odeonsplatz stop, while bus 153 starts and ends from the University stop. The stops of the-Tann-Straße and Odeonsplatz are eliminated for this bus in both directions. The night bus lines N40, N41 and N45 cannot serve the Odeonsplatz and Von-Tann-Straße stops in the direction of Karlsplatz [mvg.de] .
In addition, there are changes in Tram lines 17, 18, 19 and 21. The trams then only serve certain sections, which means that many familiar stops such as Karlsplatz (Stachus) or the German Museum are not approached [mvg.de] .
preparations and information for passengers
To inform the passengers about the changes, the MVG relies on notices, tickers and announcements in the vehicles. For more information, passengers can use the MVG website or the app to stay up to date via the current connections [Abendzeitung-muenchen.de] .
The anticipation for Christopher Street Day is already great, because the event not only promises a celebration of diversity, but also a strong sign of the rights of the queer community in southern Germany. Whether at the parade or the celebrations in the urban area - the entire Munich population is invited to celebrate and enjoy the bright colors of diversity.
