Competition: Get vouchers for ice cream and coffee in Munich!

There is currently a lot going on in the culinary sector in Munich. On July 12, 2025, Munich residents can look forward to an exciting competition that will sweeten the summer. The Café Münchner Freiheit and the Sarcletti ice cream parlor are organizing a competition in which five vouchers worth 20 euros each for the café and five vouchers for 20 scoops of Sarcletti ice cream will be raffled off. To take part, interested parties only need to enter a keyword of their choice in the first line of the competition form. Participation ends on July 20th, so let's get going, dear ice cream lovers! Hello Munich reports on everything important about this sweet event.

But that's not the only news in Munich! From January 1st, further changes affecting the local dining scene will come into effect. The Café Münchner Freiheit has teamed up and merged with the ice cream parlor Sarcletti. Despite this merger, everything should remain the same for customers: the popular Sarcletti ice cream will continue to be freshly prepared at Rotkreuzplatz, while the coffee and cakes in the café will be served at the usual high standard. Karl “Charly” Eisenrieder and his brother Max will take over management under the new Münchner Freiheit Eisenrieder GmbH. The tz examines the background to this merger and the motives of Michael Sarcletti, who is planning to withdraw while his daughter does not want to continue the business.

Culinary highlights and trends

Nuremberg's sights seem to be very popular when it comes to culinary offerings. New to the picture is LAP Coffee, which recently opened at Gärtnerplatz. The colorful drinks, from cappuccinos to matcha lattes to a delicious, iced vanilla cappuccino, primarily attract young customers. Warm drinks here are on the bland side compared to other cafes, but the selection of pastries is tempting and the prices are more than fair. The evening newspaper talks about the long queues that form in front of the café and reveals that customers can enjoy an attractive selection of coffee variations for a maximum of 11 euros.

In this busy and lively city, Munich residents keep moving: whether they're heading to a nice café to try out the latest coffee trend or looking forward to the sweet promise of Sarcletti ice cream - one thing is for sure: summer will definitely be enjoyable here!
