Murder in the Obermenzing: 62-year-old was dead for days dead in his apartment

In a tragic incident, 62-year-old Ulrich Zilker was found dead in his apartment in Munich-Obermenzing. When he was reported missing by a friend on July 7, he had been in his Keyserlingstrasse apartment for several days. Zilker lived alone and had a withdrawn lifestyle, without children and with a second apartment in Milbertshofen on Keferloherstrasse. The police have now started investigations to clarify the circumstances of his death. According to evening newspaper, Zilker was last seen on June 16, and a meeting was planned for June 25th.

The autopsy, which was carried out on June 10, confirmed that Zilker was the victim of a violent crime. This represents a turning point in the investigation, since initially there are no evidence of a homicide. According to [TAG24] (https://www.tag24.de/ Justice/leichenfunde/leichenfund-in-muenchen-62-jaehriger-Wurde-victim-a-powered crowd-3403863), the police had not identified any traces of burglary in his apartment. Special features such as a trolley found and an old edition of the evening newspaper from 2004 raise additional questions.

Who knew Ulrich Zilker?

The investigators are now urgently looking for witnesses who knew zilker or finally had contact with him. Every hint could be crucial to reconstruct the events before his death. The police therefore ask for help, information can be reported on 089/29100. The tragic details about the death also have a highlight of the security situation in Munich, which has been the focus again in recent years. Statistics show that the city has to struggle in various crime areas, but this case is particularly shocking and raises questions about security in the district.

In comparison to the general crime rate, this incident is a questionable exception. The police crime statistics show that crimes not only comprises serious crimes, but also tried crimes, whereby each crime that has become known to the police is registered as a separate case. The statistics provide information about the frequency of criminals, but individual fates like that of Zilker combine with human suffering and contribute to the general concern among the population. The tension in the neighborhood remains great until the case is clarified. Has anyone noticed something that can contribute to clarifying the crime? The police are hoping for answers.
