Fritz-Neuland Prize: Courageous fights against anti-Semitism in Bavaria!
On Monday, June 30th, the Fritz-Neuland Memorial Prize will be awarded in Munich, which stands for special courage against anti-Semitism. This award, which is endowed with 7,500 euros, was created by Michael Fischbaum in close cooperation with Bavaria's Minister of Justice Georg Eisenreich and Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann. She recognizes the achievements of fully lawyers, graduate law keepers as well as members of the judiciary and the police who are committed beyond normal service fulfillment in order to act against anti-Semitism. Michael Frederic Fischbaum donates this award in honor of Fritz Neuland, a brave Jewish lawyer (1889–1969), who preserved his grandmother, Margarete Schreiner, from the Dachau concentration camp during the Nazi era. At the award ceremony, Charlotte Knobloch, daughter of Fritz Neuland and President of the Israelite Culture Community of Munich and Upper Bavaria, will speak and express their views on the importance of the prize. This emphasizes not only the individual services of the excellent, but also the need to set a strong sign against the current wave of anti -Semitism. The state responsibility to position themselves against such tendencies is particularly emphasized and underlined by Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann.
