Sternkoch takes noble strawberry ice cream to Munich - Mieze Schindler expected!

Triftstraße 4, 80337 München, Deutschland - In Munich, the summer months not only ring in sunshine, but also with a very special ice cream. From July 8, 2025 at 5 p.m., the Eisdiele Ballabeni in Lehel will offer a new, extraordinary strawberry ice cream: the "Mieze Schindler". This top class of the ice is created under the aegis of the renowned star chef Jan Hartwig, who was awarded three Michelin stars for his “Jan” restaurant. Hartwig got together with Alberto Ballabeni after he found that Ballabeni has not yet been a strawberry ice cream in the range that meets his own demands.

The new variety "Mieze Schindler" costs 3.60 euros per ball and is made from a special strawberry variety that is considered an aroma queen. These small, round strawberries are only a few days a year harvest and are characterized by their intensive taste. An aroma that is reminiscent of forest berries and brings a fine-sour raspberry aroma with it will delight the taste buds of the ice lovers. Hartwig also uses the Mieze Schindler in his star restaurant, which underlines the exclusivity of this variety.

breathtaking moments of pleasure

The collaboration between Hartwig and Ballabeni not only focuses on quality, but also on the price. In order to enable as many people as possible to enjoy this special ice, it is deliberately offered cheaply, despite the cost of goods of around 5 euros per ball. But here there is a drop of bitterness: the kitty shingle variety contains alcohol and is therefore unsuitable for children. In addition, the ice is only sold individually - a mixture in the cup is for the time being.

The ice is only available for a short time, daily from 5 p.m. in the Ballabeni branch in Triftstraße 4.. There is no reason to miss this unique taste experience.

Munich: The Eis stronghold

Munich, as the German Handwerks Zeitung reports, is not only known for its “Mieze Schindler” ice cream, but the city is generally considered a stronghold of ice cream parlors in Germany. In a current rating on TripAdvisor, three Munich ice cream paradises can be found among the top 10 ice cream parlors in the country. At the top is the Eislabor in Bonn, but Ballabeni has established itself as a first -class address in the overall field with a remarkable placement, according to the motto: If you want to enjoy ice in Munich, you can't avoid Ballabeni.

Also an attraction is the fact that Ballabeni also offers courses on ice and sorbet manufacturing, which makes the ice cream parlor particularly popular among families and pleasure lovers. The latest trend in the ice cream parlor, the combination of extraordinary ingredients and traditional manufacturing processes, also makes you want more. This is also supported by the creative figure, as can be found in the "crazy ice maker" - a perfect addition to the new taste experience of Hartwig.

whether the ice of the Mieze Schindler by Jan Hartwig will be the next taste explosion for the Munich team remains to be seen, but the anticipation is guaranteed to be large. For everyone who likes exquisite flavors, the strawberry ice cream is a real mandatory program. Therese and Anton, from the Lehel, are already full of anticipation: "We have heard, that should be the best ice in the city!"
