Cup fever in Bavaria: surprises and exciting duels on match day!

A lot happened in Munich football on September 4, 2025 - and not everything went according to plan. The Donau/Isar district cup could have provided more excitement, but two cancellations from the teams TSV Bergkirchen and TSV Solln marred the match day. This is of course a shame, especially for the fans who were looking forward to exciting duels. Nevertheless, there were also exciting games to report.

In the duel between the SpVgg Altenerding and Aspis Taufkirchen, the outsider Taufkirchen prevailed 2-1 and caused a happy surprise. Another encounter ended in thrills: the district league duel between Kranzberg and Allershausen had to be decided on penalties, while Geisenfeld also lost on penalties to the team from Rohrbach.

Munich district cup and exciting encounters

Things were similarly turbulent in the Munich district cup. Here, TSV Forstenried won 6:4 against SV München-West in a spectacular game. A fireworks display that spectators shouldn't miss! Lohhof was unable to win against Feldmoching despite an outstanding performance from Luan-da-Costa-Barros, who scored three goals. The favorite Fürstenried secured a 2-1 win in an exciting game against an opponent who only had nine players - respect for their fighting spirit!

Things continued to be exciting in the Inn/Salzach district cup. SV Ostermünchen secured victory against ASV Großholzhausen, but not without a melodramatic finish: with a goal in the 90th minute and two dismissals on their side, the players made the most of everything until the last second. It's games like these that make amateur sport come alive and that fans will remember for a long time.

Cup games under the banner of organ donation

Another highlight of the cup match day was the event that focused on an important social issue: organ donation. The 22 Bavarian district cup finals were all about this campaign, which took place from Bavarian Football Association, the Bavarian State Ministry of Health and ANTENNE BAYERN. The aim was to educate people and raise awareness about organ donation. BFV President Christoph Kern emphasized the social commitment of amateur football in Bavaria, a nice approach that strengthens both sport and society.

All in all, this match day showed that despite cancellations and unexpected twists, local football in Munich remains lively and exciting. The combination of exciting games and social commitment makes amateur football so special and important.
