Burning motorcycle on A95: Biker injured – drama in the evening!
A motorcycle accident caused a stir on the A95 near Forstenried last night. A biker lost control of his motorcycle under still unclear circumstances, crashed into the guardrail and was thrown onto the road. The resulting broken motorcycle quickly burst into flames, presumably due to leaking gasoline. Fortunately, the driver survived the incident with minor injuries and was immediately treated by an ambulance that happened to be passing by and transported to a clinic in Munich Evening newspaper reported.
The fire department arrived quickly at the scene of the accident and was able to quickly extinguish the fire. Nevertheless, not much remained of the motorcycle and the motorway had to be closed, which led to significant traffic delays in the direction of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. After around 40 minutes, however, one lane was reopened, as was the one TZ shows.
Traffic accidents involving motorcycles
The situation that occurred on the A95 is not an isolated case. In Germany, motorcycles are particularly affected by a fourth risk of accidents. According to that ADAC Motorcyclists are four times more likely to be involved in an accident than drivers. In addition, motorcyclists are seven times more likely to have serious accidents. Despite a decline in fatal accidents in recent years, the proportion of motorcyclists among traffic fatalities has increased.
It makes sense to take a closer look at the causes of accidents: Over a third of accidents are single accidents, often caused by driving errors or excessive speed. In addition, young drivers (15-24 years old) are particularly at risk. Common injuries include head and chest trauma. To reduce the risk, the ADAC strongly recommends wearing protective clothing, regularly checking the motorcycle for technical defects and taking part in driving safety training.
Excited by the freedom that motorcycling offers, bikers should always exercise caution. The incident on the A95 shows how quickly a situation can change and how important it is to keep an eye on both your own safety and that of other road users.
