On July 20, 2025, FC Luzern completed its preparation for the new season with an impressive 3-0 win against FC Rapperswil-Jona. In bright sunshine and in front of around 1,700 fans in their own stadium, the Lucerne team put in a convincing performance, especially in the second half. This reports Regional football.
At the start of the game, the guests from Rapperswil-Jona got into the game well and had some promising chances to score. But the hosts became more and more dominant after about 30 minutes. In the 29th minute the time had finally come: Adrian Grbic made it 1-0 after a nice pass from Ferreira. As the playing time increased, Lucerne gained more control of the game.
The goals of the game
After the half-time break, Grbic made people sit up and take notice again and increased the score to 2-0 in the 47th minute after a precise pass from Karweina. From this point on, the game visibly slowed down, as Rapperswil-Jona hardly posed any offensive threats. In the 74th minute, Sascha Britschgi made the final score 3-0 with a header from a corner from Freimann. This successful completion of the preparations gives hope for a successful season!
The Lucerne team impressed in their new home jerseys and demonstrated that they had prepared well. Things will continue for FC Luzern in just one week: Next Saturday is the first away game of the new season against the Grasshoppers, who also have a high status in the Super League Nah notes.
