In the Munich Alexisquartier in Neuperlach, something is happening! A new neighborhood park for all generations is just around the corner and the anticipation is great. The city council building committee gave the final decision for the design of the park on Tuesday, and the construction work is scheduled to begin this summer. This creates a green oasis that will not only benefit the residents of the new quarter, but also to the entire neighborhood. According to the Gruene Group Munich, the project also includes the construction of 1300 apartments, three daycare centers and shops.

The construction work now started on a property that was previously used as a gravel mining area transform the area into a park with a generous size of 3.5 hectares. The terrain is greened with trees and flowering meadows, and there are some exciting features: a barrier -free path system and a park promenade in the north. For the little ones, a 1500 square meter play area with water features and climbing play systems is set up. Young people can be active on a sports field for football and basketball or meet in a converted ship container. Adults are also taken care of: they can play boules or chess and make themselves comfortable under shade trees.

The costs for the entire neighborhood park amount to 7.7 million euros, and Demos Wohnbau, the property developer, bear the financing. This investment is not only in the sign of the green design of the Alexisquartier, but is also part of the concept of socially friendly ground use (Sobon), which has been active in Munich for many years. The City of Munich describes SOBON as an important instrument to promote social and sustainable aspects in housing. The aim is to create both funded and freed -financed apartments and at the same time to protect the environment.

This concept is actually a model of success. Sobon is intended to ensure that property developers and investors participate in the costs and burdens of the construction projects. To date, thanks to this model, more than 59,000 residential units have been created in Munich that take into account criteria such as social housing and green spaces. The last adjustments of the guidelines are made in order to do justice to the pressure on the housing market, especially with regard to the cost increases in construction and the increasing demand for living space in the lower and middle price segment. These measures are crucial for the success of the project in the Alexisquartier and beyond.

The neighborhood park is to be opened according to the current plans 2028, with the exception of a small part in the southern Grünzug, which may be accessible earlier. A special highlight is the planned free, self -cleaning toilet house, which will offer visitors additional comfort. In addition, a quiet green strip with a climate function is created in the southern area, which is intended to ensure that fresh, cool air flows from the nearby Trudinger Forest to the residential areas.
