In the early morning hours of July 17, 2025, at 4:05 a.m. to be precise, an ATM at Sparkasse Kulmbach-Kronach in Küps, Upper Franconia, was blown up. The incident occurred at Bahnhofstrasse 29 and the suspects are currently unknown. Loud Bavarian police The perpetrators fled in an unknown direction in a dark vehicle. The explosion was noticed by alert residents who immediately informed the police. The Coburg criminal police took over the investigation, supported by the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office (BLKA). The emergency services are currently investigating the explosives used, the origin of which is being determined at the Forensic Institute in Munich. The material damage to the building is also significant, but not yet precisely quantified, and the amount of cash stolen also remains unclear.
