Art and rainbow: Munich celebrates the Pride Month 2025!
Glockenbachviertel, Deutschland - The month of June is all about Pride Month in Munich, which focuses on the rights of LGBTQIA+with a colorful program and diverse events. The Pride Weeks will start on June 14th and end on June 29, 2025, where this year's motto "Liberté Diversité Queerité" by Thomas Niederbühl, the political spokesman for the CSD Munich, is highlighted as a strong sign for equality and recognition of the queer community. Particularly explosive: The CSD falls on the anniversary of the Stonewall Riot from 1969 and thus sets a clear sign against discrimination.
The CSD is celebrated in Munich with a colorful political parade on June 28th. The parade begins at 12 p.m. on Ohlmüllerstrasse and moves through various streets of the city center to the Feldherrnhalle. Over 100 events are offered across the entire duration of the Pride Weeks, including parties, workshops and cultural events. All details about the registration and the program can be found on the official website of the CSD.
cultural highlights and art projects
Already today three special exhibitions begin in Munich. In the gay-queer center Sub, the photo project runs "with your traces collective", which promotes the cross-generational exchange about queer life. Six photographers work with eight LGBTQIA+senior citizens to capture their perspectives. There is also an illustrated book with texts by Kim de l’Horizon in the Verlag Distanz, which appears on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the abolition of §175.
In the Pasinger Factory, the exhibition "Pink - an exhibition on the meaning of the color in art and everyday life" can be seen, which examines the symbolic meanings of the color pink. The artist Luke Carter also presents a cabinet exhibition there that deals with the topics of sexuality, queerness and masculinity and is accessible until June 21st.
Special events in June
The Pride Weeks contain a rich package of events. On June 2, the "Time to Shine" celebration starts in the Milla Club, followed by a book presentation on the subject of "Jewish hatred in art business" on June 3 in the center. A highlight will be the lesbian street festival on June 21st at Stephasplatz, which offers a wide range of music and information.
More exciting events are the Pride Picnic on June 22nd in the English Garden and the Pride Pool Party in the Michaelibad on June 26th. On the two days of the festival on June 28th and 29th, the Munich city center can not only invite you to celebrate with the political parade, but also with a large street festival, including concerts and stages.
The city shines in colorful rainbow colors during this special time and thus underlines the importance of diversity and social acceptance for the LGBTIQ*community. Through a high degree of commitment of the organizers and supporters, it becomes clear: Munich stands together for a world in which every person can live their lives freely and self -determined.
