There will be significant changes to S-Bahn traffic in Munich this weekend. The German railway announces that construction will take place on the 2nd main line in Laim from Saturday, July 12, 2025, 10:30 p.m. to Monday, July 14, 2025, 4:40 a.m. This construction site means that some S-Bahn connections cannot run as usual. Do the S-Bahn changes affect connections?
Yes, several lines are affected overall. The S 1 runs from the main station (platforms 20-26) and does not stop in Moosach. The S 2 runs between Erding and Petershausen/Altomünster as usual. The S 3 ends at Ostbahnhof and continues as the S 6 to Ebersberg. The S 4 is canceled between Trudering and Pasing, while the S 5 continues as S 7 from Donnersbergerbrücke. The S 6 and S 8 are running as planned, but there are cuts on the S 4 in particular that travelers should be aware of.

There are also construction sites on the S 7. These extend from Friday, July 26th (8:45 p.m.) to Monday, August 26th (4 a.m.) between Giesing and Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn.
