80 years of Paul Gerhardt Choir: Encouraging motet concert awaited!

Mathunistraße 23-27, 80687 München, Deutschland - in Munich is a very special event ahead: the Paul Gerhardt choir celebrates its 80th anniversary with a festive motet concert. On Tuesday, July 8th, at 8 p.m., the Paul-Gerhardt Church at Mathunistraße 23-27 opens its doors to offer visitors to a musical experience of the extra class. The concert is under the motto "Life, Love and Faith" and is conducted by the choir director Ilse Krüger.

Visitors can look forward to a varied program that includes the highlights of spiritual choral music from different epochs. Among other things, works by Claudio Monteverdi, such as the "Cantate Domino", and Johann Sebastian Bach, including the famous piece "Gloria, is sung". But the voices of classic and modern composers of the 20th century are not neglected, such as the sounds of Arvo Pärt and Morten Lauridsen. Such a musical diversity not only addresses the love of choral music, but also the faith of the participants and the audience.

Participation allowed!

For everyone who is musically versed, there is a special option: With some works, the opportunity is offered at short notice. A sample takes place at 6.45 p.m., so that interested parties can immerse yourself in the beneficial sounds of the choir.

Admission to this remarkable concert is free. However, donations to support the choir work are welcome, so that everyone can make a small contribution to this cultural highlight.

hygiene rules and registration

In order to respond to the current circumstances, special hygiene rules apply. For example, concert goers must observe the 3-G rule, which means that proof of vaccination, recovery or current negative covid test is required. In addition, wearing a medical or FFP2 mask is prescribed throughout the event. For participation, prior registration is also necessary, in which the last name, first name, address, email address and telephone number must be communicated. Interested parties can register at mail@paul-gerhardt-chor.de.

This concert is not only a celebration for the choir itself, but also a sign of the importance of spiritual and secular music in our society. As the experiences from various festivals, such as the music festival Ion, show, there are a variety of approaches to experience music in sacred rooms. It is often also about meditative moments and the examination of profound life issues that find their expression in music.

So if you want to travel a musical journey through six centuries and a time of life, lovens and faith, you should paint the 8th July red in the calendar. Further information about the Paul-Gerhardt choir and the concert can be found on their website www.paul-gerhardt-chor.de .

be there, enjoy the music and celebrate with us the 80th anniversary of the Paul Gerhardt Choir!
