Severe traffic disruptions: B2 closed between Puchheim and Germering!
The traffic situation in the Munich area is currently causing turbulent times. Extensive maintenance work is pending on the busy federal highway 2, which connects Fürstenfeldbruck with the A 96 and A 99. The suspension will come into effect on June 23, 2025 and will last until July 13, 2025. This measure affects the section between Germering-Nord and Puchheim, like [news.de](https://www.news.de/auto/858075575/verkehrsmelde-muenchen-zur-verkehrsstoerung-wegen-baustelle-sperrung-einsch Restrictions-from-23-06-2025-to-13-07-2025-restrictions-in-traffic-congestion-risk-in-munich-zip-code-82178-puchheim-ort-auf-b2/1/) reported.
The construction work includes a road renewal of 4.6 kilometers in the direction of Augsburg, with the section in the opposite direction from Puchheim to Germering-Nord also being renovated. The reason for this extensive renovation work is significant damage caused by winter frost periods and high traffic loads. The asphalt surface is badly affected and needs to be completely replaced, report the Süddeutsche and the Germeringer City page.
Detours and traffic flow
The affected section of the B 2 will be completely closed during the entire construction period, but access ramps at the Puchheim-Ort junction will remain accessible in both directions. The diversions lead via Puchheim-Ort, Puchheim-Bahnhof and Gröbenzell to Munich. Trucks and commuters from Fürstenfeldbruck have to take the state road 2069 and then the district road FFB 11 to Gröbenzell. In the opposite direction, the diversion is signposted in accordance with the U 21 motorway detour.
Those responsible ask all road users to pay close attention to the signposted detours in order to reduce possible traffic jams and waiting times. There could also be weather-related delays in construction time, which requires additional patience.
Public transport not affected
Good news for commuters: The local public transport bus lines, including the lines
The city of Munich and those responsible at the Freising State Building Authority are doing everything they can to complete the renovation work quickly and efficiently. It remains to be hoped that the new road surfaces will soon improve the driving experience on the B2. The plans are designed for the first weeks of summer to avoid unpleasant winter conditions.
